Hello and welcome to our practice
Our practice was founded on a simple but deeply held belief that therapy should feel warm, thoughtful, safe, and genuinely human. When you walk through our doors, my hope is that you feel met with care rather than judgment. I want this to be a space where you can begin to explore your story at your own pace, feel a little less alone in what you are carrying, and feel supported as you move toward healing, growth, and meaningful change.
I founded this practice from a place of deep respect for the courage it takes to begin therapy. As a clinical psychologist, I find great meaning in walking alongside people as they navigate pain, uncertainty, relationships, loss, identity, trauma, and personal growth. I believe that healing is not about becoming someone entirely new, but often about gently returning to parts of yourself that may have been hidden, hurt, silenced, or forgotten.
The wings in my logo represent a phoenix, a symbol of resilience, healing, and renewal. For me, they reflect the belief that even after difficult seasons, loss, emotional pain, or deep struggle, something meaningful can still emerge. Growth may not always feel dramatic or easy, but transformation remains possible, often in quiet, gentle, and deeply personal ways.
Many of the people who come to our practice are carrying far more than others can see. You may feel overwhelmed, disconnected, misunderstood, exhausted, anxious, numb, or unsure of where to begin. You may be seeking more than symptom relief. You may be looking for a space where your experience can be understood, where your emotions can make sense, and where you can begin to reconnect with yourself, your body, your relationships, and your life.
If you are considering starting therapy, please know that you do not have to do it alone.
I am also fortunate to work alongside Lauren Volker, an associate psychologist at the practice. Lauren and I first met during our internship year at Weskoppies Hospital, where we discovered a shared way of thinking about people, healing, and psychological care. In that demanding and meaningful setting, we both developed a strong appreciation for compassionate, reflective, and integrative work. That shared beginning continues to shape the way we practise today, with warmth, curiosity, and deep respect for the complexity of being human.
Although each therapist brings their own personality, clinical style, and lived sensitivity to the work, our therapeutic values are closely aligned. We both work integratively, drawing from psychodynamic thinking while also incorporating approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, trauma-informed interventions, EMDR, mindfulness-based practices, person-centred principles, and systemic perspectives.
As a team, we work with a wide range of emotional, behavioural, relational, and psychological difficulties. We believe that therapy should never be a one-size-fits-all process. Instead, we aim to understand each person’s unique story, history, strengths, relationships, and current challenges, and to shape the therapeutic process around what may be most helpful for them.
Wherever you are starting from, you are welcome here.
Our hope is to offer you a space where healing can begin to feel possible, where insight can deepen, where difficult experiences can be held with care, and where the next step forward may feel a little gentler and less lonely.
